Zama City Sunflower Festival 2019
More than 550,000 sunflowers bloom from July-August in Zama City, Kanagawa, Japan. The sunflower festival takes place in the Summer from 10th-14th August to showcase these incredible sunflower fields. And it wouldn't be a festival without food markets which were full of delicious sunflower themed treats (including sunflower beer) to go with the sunflower viewing experience. Sunflower picking available as well for those able to take some home with them too.
Although the sunflowers were the real heroes, big shout outs to all the Japanese people braving the harsh heat to do some weekend flower viewing. The sunflower viewing platforms had approximately a 15 minute wait, which in the hot weather was difficult, but well worth it to get to view the fields from above.
